Going Forward, “We the People”
Going forward, “We the People” of the United States need to look around the world and learn from it! We the People need to escape the myth of “American Exceptionalism.” The world is passing the United States by and NO amount of exceptional hubris will ever stop it!
We the People, as a democracy, were exceptional for about “ten minutes” in 1776 as the only attempted representative-democracy in a world seemingly full of heredity Kings. We the People’s “American Exceptionalism” overlooks England had already proverbially enshrined, the right of every-man over the King’s privilege, 561 years earlier with the Maga Carta (1215). The inescapable flaw in the 1789 United States Constitution, is its tolerance of slavery. Europe and the rest of the world delt with slavery/racism a lot more effectively[1] and immediately than We the People did then or have today.
We the People today are still dealing with slavery’s corrupt exceptions e.g., the unrepresentative upper house (Senate), electoral college and “dark money[2]” abomination of a corrupt despotic conspirative, unrepresentative[3], unconstitutional oligarchy (supreme[4] Court) OVER ALL[5].
Ronald Reagan’s seductive assertion of anarchy,[6] that We the People had built a “bright shining city on the hill” dependent on laissez faire, invisible hand, free-enterprise, capitalism is the main problem! The United States’s prosperity is the result of “the hill,” not We the People’s failed efforts at laissez faire, invisible hand, free-enterprise capitalists' representative-democracy. The manifest destiny for the last undeveloped fertile-crescent-like[7] continent is the sole source of our prosperity. Our still failing attempt at representative-democracy is more of an anchor than a motavator. Western Europe is a lot more of a representative-democracy than the United States, 250 years after or declaration.
The primacy of England’s “House of Commons” over their premier, courts and powerless upper house is much more of a successful representative-democracy than today’s United State’s - dominated by an unrepresentative corrupt “dark money” Senate, Electoral College,[8] not to mention the corrupt despotic conspirative unconstitutional SUPREME[9] oligarchy OVERALL.[10]
Look at the Scandinavian countries, call them a nanny state, a social democratic state. I care not. They are not failing. They are prospering. They are a socialist representative-democracy! The Dutch (Netherlands) with just 18M people, 1/20 of the United States, they control the WORLD-WIDE semiconductor market with ASML.
ASML Holding N.V., headquartered in Veldhoven, the Netherlands, is the world's leading supplier of photolithography systems used in the semiconductor industry. It operates as a critical, near-monopoly manufacturer of Extreme Ultraviolet (EUV) and Deep Ultraviolet (DUV) machinery required to mass-produce the advanced microchips found in modern electronics.
The Netherlands is an agricultural powerhouse, on reclaimed land, controlling about 28% of all intra-EU vegetable and fruit trade as the continent's largest and the world's second-largest overall agricultural exporter.
And sooo much more with the port of Amsterdam.
Now this is where I lose M.A.G.A., McCarthyism and Trump.

We need to LEARN from China.
China as a culture has cultivated principled STANDARDIZED leadership institutionally for 1,300 years! We the People have been too indoctrinated by lingering irrational McCarthyism. Trump’s authoritarian, and ultranationalist (fascist) “Make America Great Again” movement (BTW, you would be hard pressed to find a stupider[11] name for its asserted purpose) is the exemplar. M.A.G.A. is all about groundless fear mongering and name-calling. You call something Socialist, Communist, Marxist and there is no need to even consider it.
I am a fan, and always will be, of laissez faire, invisible hand, free-enterprise, capitalism as constrained by an informed representative-democracy. We do not need or want any more wired A.T.&T. phone monopolies or “Times Beach” toxic waste dumps. Government regulations are a very necessary "good thing." M.A.G.A. / McCarthyism will tell you Socialist, Communist, Marxist failed in Stalin’s Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) and Mao’s People's Republic of China (PRC). I would assert Stalinism, Maoism, Putinism and Trumpism failed or will fail because they fail their Socialist, Communist, Marxist, Capitalist informed representative-democracies.
Now I will admit, Stalinism and Maoism failed disastrously. But what McCarthyism, Trump, M.A.G.A. and too much of the developed world fail to realize unconstrained laissez faire, invisible hand, free-enterprise, capitalism brought us every war, every crash and every governmental failure before or since. Every monarchy was/is always based on the avarice of laissez faire, invisible hand, free-enterprise, capitalism. The Pyramids, Taj Mahl, Palace of Versailles, and more recently the Biltmore Estate all failed to improve the lives of those that made them. Every world war to date has been waged to profit someone other than those that fought in them. Today we need more of the standardized principled good government of Confucius’s (300 BC).
Socialist, Communist, Marxist, in various forms are succeeding in Western Europe and China today because they accommodate their informed representative-democracies. Putin will fail because he cannot payoff all the would-be oligarchs and his now un-informed representative-democracy will eventually rise up through his "fake news" propaganda regime.
I contend with no hands-on evidence, little more than an assertion, China’s success today and in the future is based more on the 1,300 years of standardized principled good government of Confucius’s (300 BC) as a premise -- more than on Karl Marx, Mao Zedong, or Xi Jinping.
There is but one absolutely controlling rule. I like to call it Abraham Lincoln’s 11th commandment:
“You can fool some of the people all the time, all the people some of the time, but you can not fool all the people all the time.”
Truth will always prevail. Yes we may have to struggle through a few Hitlers, a few Mao Zedongs, a few Trumps, a few Xyz but in the end truth will prevail.
Going forward, “We the People” of the United States need to look around the world and learn from Scandinavia, European Union and, yes, China.
China REALIZED rare-earth-minerals were going to be critical EARLY. It maybe enlightened government subsidies, but they are making all the money and political capital they want or need now! And Trump's laissez faire, invisible hand, free-enterprise, capitalists are now asking for government subsidies to JUST catch up.
China has taken the Electric Vehicle (EV) industry away from the consummate capitalists Elon Musk/Tesla and Detroit. There are substantially fewer parts in an EV. EVs are thus cheaper to produce than Internal Combustion Engines (ICE).
Musk will tell you that lithium is expensive. As a good capitalist Musk is trying to boost his price. Lithium could double, triple in price and it is still cheaper, pound for pound. to produce than the tooled high carbon steel of an internal combustion engine’s block, transmission and differential -- than the microchips, copper winding, rare-earth magnets and lithium batteries in an EV that replaces an ICE.
Detroit will tell you EVs have limited range. Real world says 90% of the user or uses, 300-500 mile range, does not matter. The fix has two parts. Batteries should have been and will be designed for modular exchange. Rather than recharging a battery on the road, you pull into an automated exchange station, get a fully charged battery and move on. Secondarily, when the solid state battery is perfected, range and recharging are improved.
China currently still has a better and cheaper to produce product, loaded with options. China is flooding open arms of the world market with their cheaper to produce and better EVs. And it is not about subsidies it is about a better and cheaper product. We the People will be forced to acknowledge, tripping over them as they are soon crossing our borders from the GREATER America i,e., Mexico and Canada.
Ultimately the GREATER America will avoid the inevitability of “peak oil”, future oil spills and, in town, ubiquitous gas stations. In the GREATER America, you pull out of the garage every morning fully charged.
