Quick Take --------------------------------------------image.png

Pat, I am OK.  You are OK.

Let’s be honest with each other?

Communism catastrophically failed twice, Stalinism and Maoism, in the 20th century.

Free-market, laissez-faire, capitalism has catastrophically FAILED at the root of every over war, depression, dictatorship since the beginning of time!

Democratic-socialism is not perfection, but it is a representative-democratic attempt at improvement over past failures!

All parties are susceptible to “waste, fraud and abuse.”  Conservatives JUST call it profit and condemn liberals for it.

The larger developed world’s 50+ years of PROVEN success with Universal-Democratic-Socialized-Healthcare is positive and self-evident!

I therefore support Democratic-Socialism.

Questions:

How did the free market expression of the Pyramids, roughly 2700 BCE and 1500 BCE, advantage anyone but THE pharaohs?

How did the free market expression of the Palace at Versailles, Buckingham Palace, or Biltmore Estate advantage anyone other than the principles?

Stalinism and Maoism cost maybe 100 million people combined.  How many people do you think the Pyramids, Palace at Versailles, Buckingham Palace, or Biltmore Estate cost the people that built them, historically adjusted[1]?  From the totalitarian aspect there was NO difference.  Totalitarianism be it capitalism, Stalinism or Maoism always starts from a benign positive and then goes awry.  Democratic Socialism starts from a benign positive and is then democratically directed.

Pyramids, Palace at Versailles, Buckingham Palace, Biltmore Estate, Stalinism and Maoism all suffered from the too proverbially referenced “fraud, waste and abuse” of human nature from the very top, to the bottom.

Niccolò Machiavelli (1469 – 1527) formulated his monarchial philosophy, the ends justify the means and the preservation / accumulation of power as paramount.

That brought us to the beginning of the end of the monarchy, the United States’s revolution and Adam Smith’s[2] (1723–1790) “Democratic Socialism.”  Too many people read the “Wealth of Nations” and come away believing in the “invisible hand” is Machiavellian, the ends justify any means.  Nothing could be further from Adam Smith’s truth.  Adam Smith wrote two books, several times i.e., "The Theory of Moral Sentiments" (1759, 1761, 1767, 1774, 1781, 1790) and "An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations" (1776, 1778, 1784, 1786 1789).  "The Theory of Moral Sentiments," his magnum opus, is the origin/premise for the “invisible hand” and “Wealth of Nations".  That concept is based on the "The Theory of Moral Sentiments" "impartial spectator".

Adam Smith’s "impartial spectator" is an imaginary judge inside our minds, also called the "man within the breast", that helps us evaluate our own behavior fairly.

The Capitalism, Free Market’s Machiavelli’s “greed is good,” would be repugnant to Adam Smith’s "impartial spectator".

2026 08-05-26 Lets be honest with each other QUCIK TAKE

[1] World population at around 2100 BCE, the estimated world population was roughly 27,500,000 people.  World population at 1950 was roughly 2,500,000,000 billon.  The difference a factor of 100 (4%)

[2] I have to give Adam Smith his often capitalist overlooked due.  Today’s McCarthy “red scare” infected free-market-capitalist have a naive and vague yet strident religious belief in the “invisible hand” of Adam Smith (1723–1790).

If you are a naive sycophant economist, like the Nobel Prize winning Milton Friedman(?), you assert Smith’s magnum opus was the Wealth of Nations.  Naivete, naivete, Smith wrote and then rewrote his magnum opus The Theory of Moral Sentiments 6 times and finished the last REWRITE months before his death.  Smith coined the proverbial “invisible hand” FIRST in his magnum opus “The Theory of Moral Sentiments” in support of his belief that people were invisibly and inescapably benevolent, not the invisibly “greed is good” of an overtly unbenevolent modern capitalist.

The concept, “greed is good,” would be repugnant to Adam Smith.

Anybody that wants to use Adam Smith read his magnum opus “The Theory of Moral Sentiments” 6 times before they argue his economics in "An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations."

Re:  Christian Mango 4th Grader, Greensboro NC.

Dear Virginia,

You are an idiot.  You have been indoctrinated by Detroit Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) Automakers and the fossil fuel industry!!  Electric Vehicles (EV) are the FUTURE!!  Peak oil will happen and if we are smart, we will have disposed of the Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) well in advance.

Christian Mango, The Chinese and the civilized world are right about EV, and you, Representative Virginia Foxx, President Trump and M.A.G.A. are sooooooooo wrong!

Put peak oil and climate change aside, for now.

China is putting out EV with loads of options that Detroit’s Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) Automakers can not even consider.  We will see them cross our border from Canada[1] and Mexico soon.  Tesla, Detroit, Trump and M.A.G.A. will tell you the Chinese government subsidize their EV makers.  Their's is a jaundice view.

If you realistically look at an EV as compared to an ICE. It is obvious to the discerning.  There are fewer parts, to manufacture and assembly in an EV than in just the carburetion system of an ICE.  Then trade the transmission and differential, with their 1,000+ parts, on an ICE for the weight alone of the battery and a few micro-chips, not a 100 parts in an EV.

Musk and Tesla have been selling their cars as premium vehicles to the idiotic laissez faire, free market, capitalist and Detroit is too stupid know any better.

China does not need to subsidize their EV industry.  The EV industry proverbially has a better and a cheaper mouse trap.

The issue of range is a non-issue.  Why, because 90%-95% of drivers do not need more than 300 miles a day provided by the current EV.

But for those that occasionally or regularly do, the EV offers a combination of two solutions.  The first and quickest is to perfect a solid-state battery that charges faster and has longer range.  The second and I think more important, make the batteries standardized for size and attachment.  No need to wait around to recharge.  You pull into a battery station, and a robot exchanges your battery in less time than it took to pump 20 gallons of gas, all automatically for little more than the price of the electricity.

And then to top it all off you save the environment.  And you eliminate the need for gas stations, oil tankers, oil spills, oil refining, oil drilling, oil wars and peak oil.

PLEASE NOTE Virginia, if laissez faire, free market, capitalism worked half as good as your blind belief professed, we would have all the rare-earth-minerals we needed and there would not need to be any rebates for the cheaper to produce EV.  But to date the laissez faire, free market, capitalist need government subsidies for rare-earth-minerals and EV, just like Mr. Mango requested.

If there is anything further, please let me know.

“Time is of the essence”

Thank you in advance.

Gov. is good!

Trump the Murder

Trump, “the Deplorable”

Friday, April 24, 2026 - 1:08:27 PM

Pat, I am OK. You are OK.

Pat, I am OK.  You are OK.

“Government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth." Abraham Lincoln, The Gettysburg Address, November 19, 1863

 Government is GOOD!!!!!!!!!!

"Government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem." Ronald Reagan "the asinine anti-government anarchist" (1981 Inaugural Address)

WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!

Ronald Reagan could not have been more of an asinine anarchist with.... "Government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem" — Ronald Reagan (1981 Inaugural Address).  WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!  “Government is  GOOD."  “Government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.[3]

Going forward Progressives – Democrats - Independents - the left needs to make the case every day:

Government is GOOD." “Government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth. [4]

When you are alone in the room you can be lawless, do whatever you want.  You do not need government or its rule of law.  When there are two people in the room you have rules/laws to divide the available food, space, pick a corner to piss and shit in, to name but a few of the required rules/laws.

When you are alone on the last undeveloped continent on the planet you can live off the fat of the land for centuries, but not millennia.

When there are 8,000,000,000 people in the room/world with nuclear weapons, borders, manmade or geographical become more and more obsolete.  You need a nearly endless array of European/Nordic-like democratic-representative socialism’s reckonable[5] laws governing pollution, civil rights, product liability, speed limits, traffic signs, redistributive taxation, building permits and so many, many more.

We need redistributive taxation, not because Karl Marx promoted it.  We need redistributive taxation because HISTORY has proven THE NEED.  We do not need endless avaricious wars of domination or acquisition…  or any more proverbial ego trips like the Egyptian Pyramids (2600BCE), Maya pyramids (1000BC), Great Wall Of China (220BC), Roman Coliseum (72AD), Taj Mahall (1631), Palace of Versailles (1661), Biltmore Estate (1895), bigger luxury jumbo jets, multi-billion-dollar sports teams (2000).

And once we realize European/Nordic-like democratic-representative socialism government is not a threat, true sustainable growth will happen.  “Government is GOOD."  “Government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth. [6]

Just look at Bill Gates, he spent his productive years building an organization, and in his long retirement he has been saddled with building another organization to give it all away.  Gates and others have admitted, that they cannot self-servingly or irresponsibly spend their wealth and do not want to burden their children with it.  You could not pay me to live in the “fish bowl” of massive generational wealth or the reclusion of a Howard Hughes.

I wrote a letter to Warren Buffet, when I heard he was stepping down from Berkshire Hathaway.  I am sure he never saw it.  Why give the money to a lethargic charitable bureaucracies you would have no place for in your organization today?  I doubt he would ever WANT TO invest his money in Reagan’s antiquated UNIVERSAL healthcare, emergency room hospitals of all.

Education is going to be radically remade in the next couple of decades.  Our current educational system is based on information scarcity.  It use to be the only way to transfer data was through vigorous individual rote repetition of a classroom.  Today, I sit here at home, with a nearly ubiquitous internet connection, and I can ask Google/Gemini/Siri for the formula for the area of a circle or an explanation of E=MC2.  I can ask for the value of π to 4, 10, 20 figures.  I can ask for the dates of Lincoln’s presidency.  I do not need access to the ivy clad walls of an out of date, academia.  Acknowledging utilizing that information without the experience of a lifetime is another issue.  And a 22 year old college graduate could never have it.

Wouldn’t reducing the government debt be an as effective use of the money as donating to hospitals or alma-maters?  Donate to “Government is GOOD."  “Government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth. [7]

Ronald Reagan liked to use grand platitudes.  "Government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem" — Ronald Reagan (1981 Inaugural Address).  Proverbially with Ronald Reagan’s farewell address 1989 he roughly explained the United States is the bright shining city on the hill that the entire world aspires to.

Reagan’s assertions are NEVER CRITICAL challenged!  “Government is GOOD."  “Government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth. [8]

I was a REAL hands on contractor for 40 years, not like Trump a spoiled rich kid “developing” with daddy’s money.  We need professional permitting authorities that look at and approve a COMPLETE plan for sewers, electrical, architectural, structural before you develop a “detention center” from a warehouse for 10,000+ inmates in a town of 5,000 people.

No matter how much money Trump has in his “big stupid bill” it does not make sense building new or redeveloping warehouses for detention centers that are not going to be needed at the whim of the next “Banana Republic Dictator/President” with Chief Justice John Robert’s idiotic unitary THEORY of the presidency.

If Roberts had studied history instead of the FICTION of legal precedent.  Roberts would have seen that the many FAILED “Banana Republic “Dictator” Presidents.”  Failed because we renamed our constitution and gave it to everyone in the Americas, without the ESSENTIAL core sublime humility and greatness of our founding fathers.

George Washington had the authority to pay or not pay anyone he wanted to from the treasury department; he had the right to, at his discretion alone, prosecute or ignore any and every law and he ultimately had the Commander and Chief’s authority to wage ego wars at his discretion.

Luckily for us he had the ESSENTIAL core sublime humility and greatness of virtually all of our founding fathers.  He made no attempt to feed his ego, to profit or personally benefit from the presidency.

We need government today and we will need a bigger government tomorrow to REGULATE our environment, our economy, our information, our leaders[9] and our nuclear power.

Trump says humility and responsible government are both foolish.  He got elected as a unresponsible spoiled rich kid who has always been able to avoid humility and responsibility.

But back to Reagan, Reagan’s assertions of government is bad and the United States as a bright shining city on the hill as examples for the world are FLAWED.

Do we need the dictatorships of a Stalin, Mao or Hitler?

NO!

We need a European/Nordic-like democratic-representative socialism that is more worried about the general health and welfare of the We the People than dominating/blowing up an entire civilization with VERY EXPENSIVE conventional or cheaper and more effective nuclear weapons!  Trump thinks his reckless damage and destruction are ok, because he is not doing it with nuclear weapons????

The United States is not the envy of the world, for a “city we built on the hill.”  The United States is the envy of the world because of our “hill” i.e., the continent was and is still virtually empty last un-developed “fertile crescent[10]” like continent on the PLANET.

The population of Mexico is 1.89 the density of the USA, China 4.35, the European Union 3.59 and India 11.39.  They are coming this way; there is no stopping them.  You cannot build a wall high enough, a mote or an ocean wide enough.  We are way tooooo lazy to pick all the vegetables, mow ALL the grass, sew ALL our clothes, make ALL our shoes, wait on ALL our tables, change all our diapers, do ALL our day labor or MOST importantly make ALL our cell phones, computers, televisors and A.I. electronics.

Trump’s inexperienced EMOTIONAL deportation desires do not provide any replacements.  Once the inevitable issues of deportation become economically unavoidable, M.A.G.A. will be begging for immigrants for the work that is beneath them!  There is no magical “invisible hand[11]” of laissez faire capitalism going to save us from ourselves.  We cannot pay our workers more than China pays theirs and think that are neighbors will pay us more for the same thing from China.

In today’s new open information world the technical expertise of the old world will not hold.  Ely Whitney had a great invention with the cotton gin, but lost control of the profits because, even with patent laws, the idea was too easily replicated.

The United States has lead the world, post WWII, because we did not have to rebuild our houses after WWII.  We were free to produce the automobiles and a highway system to improve our lives.

But we lost lead in production for automobiles to the Japanese’s modern engineered production in the 70s, 80, and 90s.

We are poised to lose what little we have left of the automobile market.  This time to the Chinese Electric Vehicle (EV).  Why?  Because Elon Musk’s naiveté and Trump’s and M.A.G.A.’s addiction to fossil fuels with the internal combustion engine (ICE).  We are losing to the better “mouse trap” of China’s soon to be ubiquitous EVs  north & south of our borders and in Europe already(?).

EVs are a better proverbial mouse trap.  The United States has not seen it, because Elon Musk’s Tesla has not seen fit to exploit it and Trump is stuck in the mud of the seemingly too cheap to resist fossil fuels.

Elon Musk started with a good idea, EVs with under 4 second acceleration 0-60mph and few electronic convivences for a premium price.

China has taken EV’s to another level.  China’s EVs have 0-60mph acceleration in under 3 seconds (better than Musk’s), better batteries, longer ranges and plethora of electronic convivences that is unfathomable to the stuck in the mud United States’s ICE industry.

Elon Musk has, again naïvely, missed China’s exploitation of the EVs cheaper to produce product.  Elon Musk has been for too long seduced by the DOLLARS in a premium priced automobile.

EVs are cheaper to produce and therefor can provide an additional plethora of electronic convivences that are unfathomable to the stuck in the mud United States’s / Detroit’s ICE industry.

Yes, China has a cheaper workforce.  But China’s coming victory in the EV market goes much, much, MUCH  deeper!

Simple easy to understand numbers - there are fewer parts in the entire EV motor and drive chain than there are in just the carburation system of an ICE.  Add to that, you replace the iron mass of a differential and transmission of an ICE with a silicon microchip in an EV.  The SAVINGS are MASSIVE in production and propulsion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Trump and M.A.G.A. think they will have a market for ICE forever, the love the roar, greenhouse gases be damned.

China is producing a cheaper, a more ecological, a faster, a better product with plethora of electronic convivences that does not make a sound.  China has SURPASSED Detroit’s ICE industry and Detroit never even heard them go by!

[9] Any and all Immunity from the RULE of LAW, 23-939 Trump v. United States (07/01/2024), is antithetical and diametrically opposed to responsible democratic-representative Constitutional government!
