I need government’s HELP.

I believe in the innate goodness of the individual. But I believe in the in the innate goodness of mankind at large more. Lincoln said it best, "You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time."

Our current economic crisis is the result of government DE-regulation. Our banks went crazy and were loaning, government insured money to customers that wanted but could not afford it, in hopes the housing bubble would expand but NEVER BURST.
That was insanity!!!!!

We need MORE government regulation of business. I work in construction, I can not follow the financial markets i.e., keep investment houses from betting against their clients to increase their own profit AND bring my construction projects in under budget and on time. Now I concede that regulation can be taken too far, but that is something, I feel confident, you will help us keep a check on.

I need government's HELP. Just like the public at large needs building inspectors to REGULATE construction, to assure us that the concrete, the steel, the designs and the practices of construction companies are adhering to safe construction practices and not allowing profit alone to dictate construction.

In a perfect world laissez-faire regulatory philosophy would work. But, we do not live in that perfect world. We have people that are corrupt, malicious and negligent and NO-one can be afforded absolute immunity from the Rule of Law, the essences of civilization.
