A Card-Carrying Pacifist
First published February 10, 2009
I am a Card-Carrying Pacifist. Among those that know me my bonifides are unquestioned. I was a conscientious objector to the Vietnam War. There are witnesses to seeing me in public literally turning the other cheek in the face of an attack and walking, not running away. I stress the “walking away”, it is critical a pacifist is not afraid; a pacifist walks away from a fight.
It is not fear that commits a person to peace. Fear is irreconcilable with peace. Fear is violence suppressed beneath the surface. As a pacifist, I refuse to be afraid; I refuse to be forced to live in fear. I am aware of danger, but I do not willingly play on the edge of a cliff. I avoid danger; I walk away from danger if I can. If you want to establish true and lasting peace, you have to turn the other cheek to violence, with Justice / the Rule of Law, and put an end to fear.
Attempting to establish peace via the fear of a deterrent is impossible. The ephemeral appearance of peace supported by fear is no more enduring than a candle in the wind. Fear loses its effectiveness as a deterrent and becomes a motivation with familiarity and the passage of time. Fear in time builds instinctively and innocently in the person or the cornered animal into the seemingly self-destructive jihadist’s courage as motivation to boldly attack to escape “a corner”.
If we want real security and sound structural buildings that will not be knocked down by bombs and planes we need to establish Justice and work for real peace free from fear.
I am 52 years old and it has been years since I was physically confronted, but there is hardly a day goes by that I do not figuratively turn the other cheek in normal day to day interaction and take a zinger as opposed to being confrontational in disagreement and verbally attacking. I hold back with a reticence to learn from my attacker rather attempt to defeat them, not even knowing their true intent. Everyone has their own version of truth, and it is only through Justice that we can come to understand each other without violence.
That all being said, I heard a comment the other day from Mr. Cheney about how Mr. Obama is hoping to defend our country by turning the other cheek. And I say that is a good thing, turning the other cheek. I quote the quote here: “Cheney said.
“Protecting the country's security is "a tough, mean, dirty, nasty business," he said. "These are evil people. And we're not going to win this fight by turning the other cheek." ”
The ability or the intent to throw the first punch is not a sign of strength nor is it tactically a good play for a country such as ours. I know this will come, as a shock to Bush, Cheney and their supporters but reticence and pacifism is always the better tactic.
As I stated prior I am a card-carrying pacifists, there can be no question of that. That being said if I were forced to choose between killing 3,000 Americans (9/11 victims) or killing 4,000 Americans and 100,000 Iraq Nationals (casualties from the Iraq War) I would in a heart beat pull the trigger on 3,000 Americans. Point in fact, if I saw no other way, I would knock you down, if you stood in my way, to kill the 3,000 and save the 101,000.
Choices / situations like that never happen. Wars are started open endedly; you never know what the final cost/death toll is going to be until it is over. And rarely if ever is the death toll lower than expected; it is more often much, much higher. That is what makes turning the other cheek, a.k.a. reticence and pacifism the better tactic. You stay in control, you maybe wounded, but you have better control than if you were in a War in response. Where the goal of both sides is WANTON MUTUAL DESTRUCTION.
You push any animal into “a corner” and they will instinctively and innocently come back out at you, teeth bared looking for a fight, which is only nature defending itself. We have the technological and nuclear superiority to corner anyone anywhere on the planet; we know we can defeat any enemy on this planet. There is nowhere we cannot create “a corner”. We do not, I would hope, have to prove that to anyone. The only choice is how many people are we going to kill? Do we kill everyone in the opposition, every time they oppose us? Everyone in Iraq? Everyone in Iran? Everyone in the Middle East? Do we kill all the Muslims? Do we kill all the Jews? I have often thought that the best offence in a nuclear war would be to blow up our selves and let the other side suffer through the slow death of a nuclear winter, but there is no other side anymore. The truth be told there never was .
With our technological superiority we can send out our drones to blow up the infrastructure, command and control of any enemy, via a game console while sitting safely in a bunker in Missouri. We can even ghoulishly watch via the nose cone camera as the drone hits its mark and explodes. As the epilogue we can then watch the expressions on the victim’s faces and the blood as they are carried out on stretchers with our satellites.
Do we expect the locals to like us for blowing up their tyrannical government, infrastructure and necessities, but leaving them their homes with no running water, no electrical power, no phones services, or no infrastructure?
If you want peace work for Justice;
Put An End to FEAR!
That all being said there are despots out there wielding power freely in the United States of America. You think you have rights, you think you have the protection of the “rights, privileges, or immunities secured by the Constitution and laws ”. I have to tell you are oh so very naive. We are all in “a corner”.
The Guild of Judges can take your home, your children, your freedom, your life, your liberty and your pursuit of happiness without even so much as an explanation, probable cause on a warrant, or a hearing on the specifics of a charge. All they need do is issue a Court Order. They have absolute power based on their Supreme Court supported absolute immunity and they can do whatever they like.
I have been to the Supreme Court TWICE now (Writ of Certiorari 07-11115 to the United States Supreme Court and Appeal 08-1823 to the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit) and they will not even consider the possibility of the Guild of Judges without absolute immunity.
I am yes a card-carrying pacifist; there can be no question of that. But I, like all animals, need sustenance. This has been a five-year peaceful struggle for me, I have give my all. The despots are attempting to starve me to death; the despots have taken everything from me and forced me into “a corner”. Instinct is overwhelming my ideals. What does a person do after exhausting himself to the false idol of American Justice? Terrorism? Go to war? I literally have nothing left to loose? I am a professional Project Manager; I never make a move without planning for all foreseeable contingencies as far down the road as I can see. Unfortunately, I saw all this as potentially coming. We have one last chance to settle things for the good of everyone.
I again ask you to look at Judicial Terrorism and Civil Rights. The issue is REAL and has been an issue for longer than anyone will admit. It was Judicial terrorism that instituted "separate but equal" in Plessy v. Ferguson, 163 U.S. 537 (1896) and then NEVER enforced the equal portion. Thus creating the racial unrest that still permeates our society today, even with an African American President in the White House. It was Judicial Terrorism that just post Civil War refused in 1871 to enforce the Civil Rights Act now codified as US Code of Law, Title 18 § 242. Deprivation of rights under color of law and Title 42 § 1983. Civil action for deprivation of rights, on those acting “under color of law” to help the former slaves establish themselves. It is Judicial Terrorism that still refuses today some 140 years later to ENFORCE the United States Constitution and the Rule of Law.
Those acting “under color of law” have a free pass until and if their actions can be shown to be habitual or discriminatory to pre-approved minority victims. I am not sure what it takes to become a pre-approved minority victim. Team shirts? It is a completely at-will discretionary tool of the Judicial Terrorist.
The lone non-pre-approved minority victim of the denial of a person’s civil rights has the burden to prove that those “acting under color of law” have committed the crime habitually in similar but separate cases or get approval as a minority; before he/she can enforce his/her civil rights in their specific case. That is like saying you have the burden to prove that a bank robber has robbed numerous other banks prior to robbing yours to hold him accountable for robbing yours. That is criminal at-will Judicial Terrorism and a complete denial of the Rule of Law.
Our Judges in the courts of “We the People ” today do not enforce the Rule of Law or even the United States Constitution of “We the People ”; they enforce their will. We live under the at-will tyranny and terror of the Judiciary and they protect themselves with the unconstitutional assertion of Judge made law of absolute immunity for themselves and others acting “under color of law”.
Title 18 § 242. Deprivation of rights under color of law and Title 42 § 1983. Civil action for deprivation of rights have been Law in the United States of America since their original enactment in 1871. But because of the support of the terrorist Judiciary and their self-serving unconstitutional judge made law of immunity, they can not be used for the purpose they were intended, the enforcement of our “rights, privileges, or immunities secured by the Constitution and laws ”
This has been a five-plus-year struggle for me. I am not one to give up or give in easily. But we do not live under the Rule of Law, we live under the tyranny and terrorist rule of the Guild of Judges and their unconstitutional assertion of “absolute immunity”. The Rule of Law, the United States Constitution is dammed by the Guild’s tyranny and terror.
When corned, EVERY animal will eventually instinctively, innocently and violently fight against terrorism as the only available means of self-preservation. I am about to lose it!!!
Thanks in advance,
