Dear Bernie and Alex,
I heard you speaking on MSNBC… "Pseudo Democracy." I am painfully aware, as I will confirm following, but not worried a bit. Presently the United States may appear fooled but not the REAL world. I believe in Abrham Lincoln's 11th commandment:
"You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all of the time.[1]"
That being said, as a Senator, I doubt you know how true your assertion is for so many reasons you did not relate. Tariffs are a VERY destructive foible of a fool, the problem with Trump is not Trump.[2]
The Founding Fathers and a M.A.G.A.[3] thought they bequeathed us or had:
"The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government[4]"
Now what did that mean in 1789 and now in 2025? The Parties of 1789 were the "Federalist Party[5]" (Adams/Hamilton) and "Democratic-Republican Party[6]" (Jefferson/Madison). No way the Founders could have meant a MODERN capital "R" Republican Party government, or a capital "D" Democratic Party government as exists in today's M.A.G.A. United States? Not EVEN close!!!!
I think the 1789 Founders and M.A.G.A. would today say: "The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a REAL "representative democracy[7]" not an absolute democracy.
But there is the rub, that is not what we have today.
In the United States today we do not have a "representative democracy," because of the REMNANTS of the appeasement of OUR original sin of slavery. Almost everyone, M.A.G.A. included, would want to say we defeated the state's rights assertion of slavery with 600,000 dead in the Civil War, the 13th, 14th and 15th Amendments and their constitutional congressional progeny the enforcement acts[8]. But that does not address the prior and to this day the APPEASEMENT of a potential evil minority. To this day we do not acknowledge the inherent appeasement of this potential EVIL among us.
The inherent evil among us today is an unrepresentative "dark money[9]" Senate[10] where 11% (36,488,280 of 331,232,689) of the population can rule / filibuster everything, an unrepresentative "dark money[11]" Electoral College[12] that can elect anybody President with 23% (55,169,028 of 331,232,689) of the population and this is most important, an UN-CONSTITUTIONAL,[13]unelected appointed for life despotic oligarchy, i.e., the supreme court[14] RULES over and exasperated American political Exceptionalism.
The United States is governed TODAY by an evil minority anarchistic triumvirate. They can disagree, but "We the People" still have to follow.
In 1789 in a world ruled by hereditary monarchies with the LAST untapped fertile crescent[15] like continent FULL of mineral resources in our hands "We the People" were exceptional and that is where American Exceptionalism got started. Not so much anymore!
The real WORLD ain't buying American political Exceptionalism. The REAL world has had enough of our Banana Republic[16] style of democracy. The real world don't need our atomic bombs. The real world can feed itself without our continent's fertile crescent like natural overabundance of soybeans. The real WORLD knows better.
Maybe the real world, the TRUE democratic socialist, do not know it yet. But in TODAY's real world, democratic socialists long ago, as Marx predicted, rose up and defeated the strangulation of both capitalism's open ended geometrically progressing profits and misguided communism.

But today's larger REAL world from the European Union to China has realized the utility of Mayer Amschel Rothschild (1744 – 1812) assertion near the 18th century inception of our country:
"Give me control of a nation's money supply,

China may not be aware of it, but to a very real degree, China has freed it's people with the egalitarian use of it's money supply and need not USE the strangulation / starvation of Mao or Stalin to contain its now economically satiated largely free people.
If you can believe which side of the bed Trump got up on today and M.A.G.A., they want to go back to the STRANGULATION of the open ended geometric progressive profits of a Gold Standard's strangulation[18] i.e., a balanced budget / fixed money supply.
NEVER going to HAPPEN in the United States[19] or the REAL WORLD!
